Depart Hotel to visit the SHAI HILLS RESOURCE RESERVE 

Located on the Accra Plains 55km away from the National Capital, Accra, the Shai Hills Resource Reserve occupies an area of approximately 5, 140 hectares. It is one of the Resource Reserves that provide Visitors with fascinating view of both the Flora and Fauna. The Reserve is home to several species of mammals, birds and reptiles including baboons, duikers, bushbucks, monkeys, monitor Lizards and Snakes. The Ghana Wildlife Department conducts Guided Tours in the Reserve.

Visit AKOSOMBO DAM SITE

The mighty Volta River has a large catchment area that sprawls across the borders of six West African Countries and flows into the Atlantic Ocean along Ghana’s east Coast. The River has been dammed at Akosombo in the Eastern Region, 80km from Accra the Capital of Ghana. The Volta Lake created by the construction of a 370 meter wide, 124 meter tall Dam in 1965, is one of the largest man-made lakes in the World, spanning 850,000 hectares from Akosombo in the south to Buipe in the North. The Dam site has facilities to receive Visitors and Guided tours are available on prior arrangement.

Depart Hotel to visit MOLE NATIONAL PARK

Mole is the largest National Park in Ghana. Situated in the heart of the Guinea Savannah woodland ecosystem about 170km West of Tamale in the West Gonja District of the Northern Region, the Mole National Park is home to 93 mammalian species, 33 reptiles, 9 Amphibians and an estimated 300 species of Birds. The most exciting attraction at the park is a thrilling guided walk into the dry savannah woodland of the mole Park where Elephants, Baboons and Antelopes are regularly on foot alongside a dazzling variety of colourful woodland Birds. A Guided Safari tour is provided by trained officials of Ghana Wildlife Department. There is also a 33 bedroom Hotel facility with a Swimming Pool and a Restaurant.  Also available is the relatively expensive Ziana Lodge – an Eco lodge facility in located in the heart of the Mole National Park.

Visit LARABANGA MOSQUE AND MYSTIC STONE

It is the oldest and largest Sudanic style architecture dating as far back as the 13th Century. Located close to the entrance of the Mole National Park, the building has a Koran which is as old as the Mosque itself. It is believed to have been built by Moorish Traders from North Africa at a place they believed to be the Holiest in West Africa. There is a guided Tour to the Mosque and a mystic stone nearby.

Visit DABOYA SALT MINING AND TRADITIONAL WEAVING (SMOCK) HERITAGE SETTLEMENT

Located 60km Northwest of Tamale on the Nyankpala /Tolon Road is the salt mining settlement of Daboya. While the salt mining still goes on today, Daboya is also noted for its hand woven and unique traditional textile industry that displays the processes for the production of Smock (Fugu). Guided Tours are organized for Visitors by trained Local people.  Opportunity also exist for Visitors to purchase a fitting Smock and a Cap to match.

This is a Degree and Diploma Awarding tertiary institution offering various courses for Students especially from the Northern Sector of the Country. There are campuses of the University in Wa and Bolgatanga, Regional Capitals of Upper West and Upper East Regions respectively. Guided Tours are provided to Visitors upon prior arrangement.

Visit KUMASI CULTURAL CENTRE

Located five minutes’ drive from Kejetia, the Central Vehicle terminal in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional Capital, on the Bantama road is the Centre for National Culture (CNC), popularly referred to as Kumasi Cultural Centre. The Centre was created as a venue for the reinforcement of Ashanti Culture where Folklore and Cultural Performances take place for both Domestic and International Visitors. There is an excellent Craft market and a Museum for Visitors to learn about the Ashanti culture and Traditional practices. Guided Tours are organized for Visitors By knowledgeable staff of the Centre.

Depart Cultural Centre for MANHYIA PALACE MUSEUM

The Museum is located in the Official Residence of the Ashanti king (Asantehene), on the Antoa road just a kilometer from the Cultural Centre. The interesting historic museum features the various Ashanti Kings and Queens as well as Cultural Artifacts and relics of the Ashanti Kingdom spanning several centuries. Guided Tours are organized for Visitors to the Palace Museum.

Depart for TRADITIONAL TEXTILE (KENTE) WEAVING SETTLEMENT OF ADAWOMASE

The Traditional textile called “Kente” has been woven in the Settlement of Adawomase since the 17th Century. The settlement has served and still serves as the Royal “Kente” Cloth weaving village of the Asantehene (the Ashanti King). Today, Adawomase welcomes Visitors and provides guided Tours as well as offers the Kente Cloth and Strips for sale. More than half the 5,000 population of the Settlement is engaged in the production of Kente Cloth, bags and strips.

 Tour of KWAME NKRUMAH UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (KNUST)

Named after the first President of the Republic of Ghana Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the University was built to train Ghanaians in Science and Technology. A Guided Tour can be arranged with the Management of the University.

Arrive back at Hotel, Dinner and Cultural Night (Traditional Adowa and Kete Dance Performances).

Visit KAKUM NATIONAL PARK

This National Park is located 170km from Accra and 35km North of Cape Coast the Central Regional Capital. The park is a Conservation Area which is part of the Assin Attandanso Resource Reserve in the Central Region. The area covers 360sq km with Primate Species including Diana Monkeys, several species of Butterfly, Birds and several other Species of Mammals, reptiles and Amphibians. The key attraction however, is the 350 meter suspended bridges with six tree platforms overlooking the Tropical Rainforest canopy, Africa’s first Rainforest Canopy walkway, popularly referred to as the Kakum Canopy Walkway. There is also an International class Visitor Centre, with an exhibition and Museum on the Rainforest and a Restaurant to provide refreshment to Visitors. Trained Guides are available to provide Guided Tours into the Forest.

Visit ELMINA CASTLE

Dating back to 1482, the imposing St. George’s Castle at Elmina is the oldest European building in the Sub-Saharan Africa. The Castle which is designated as a World Heritage site was originally Constructed by the Portuguese as a Fortress and a Chapel. It was however expanded by the Dutch and used as a Prison for Captured Slaves ready to be shipped to the diaspora during the Slave Trade era. Guided Tours are available for Visitors to the Slave Dungeons, the Portuguese Chapel, the Governors apartment and the Courtyard. 

Depart for CAPE COAST UNIVERSITY (UCC)

This is the third largest and oldest Public University in Ghana, originally built to provide Professional Training for would be Teachers. The University has both the old and new sites and Guided Tours can be provided for Visitors upon prior arrangement with the Management of the University.

Located on Barnes Road in Accra this great Museum has a fascinating collection of Ghana’s Historical treasures. Guided Tours are available for Visitors by the trained staff of the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board.

Depart Museum for KWAME NKRUMAH MAUSOLEUM AND MEMORIAL PARK

 This consists of a magnificent marble Monument and a Park which is the final resting place of the first President of the republic of Ghana, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah of blessed memory. A Guided Tour is available for Visitors.
